Code of  Conduct

Chalky's  GC coaches and officials are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all our members. The club believes it is important that all members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore members are encouraged to be open at all times and share concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with the club Welfare Officer. As a member of Chalky's GC you are expected to abide by the following club codes of conduct:

 



 CHALKY'S  GYMNASTICS CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT FOR GYMNASTS 

  1. All members must participate within the rules and respect the coaches and their decisions.
  2. All members must respect fellow club members and opponents.
  3. Members should keep to the agreed times for training and competitions or inform their coach if they are going to be late.
  4. Members must wear suitable attire for training competitions and events as agreed with the head coach. Keep all long hair tied back. Remove all watches and jewellery.
  5. Members must pay any fees for training, competitions or events promptly.
  6. Members must not smoke, consume alcohol or take drugs of any kind whilst representing the club at competitions or other events.
  7. Members should treat all equipment with respect.
  8. Members must inform their coach of any injury or illness they may have before the warm up begins.
  9. Members should not eat during training sessions without the consent of their coach.
  10. Members must not use bad or inappropriate language.
  11. Members must not leave the training area without the consent of their coach.
  12. Members should not leave the club premises without their parents or guardian and should remain with the coaches at the end of sessions until collected by their parent or guardian.

CHALKY'S GYMNASTICS CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS / GUARDIANS​

  1. Encourage your child to learn the rules and participate within them.
  2. Help your child to recognise good performance and not just results.
  3. Set a good example by recognising good sportsmanship and applauding the good performances of all.
  4. Never force your child to take part in sport.
  5. Always ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the sport and has plenty to drink.
  6. Keep the club informed if your child is ill or unable to attend sessions.
  7. Endeavour to establish good communications with the club, coaches and officials for the benefit of all.
  8. Share any concerns or complaints about any aspect of the club through the approved channels.
  9. Use correct and proper language at all times.
  10. Never punish or belittle a child for poor performance or making mistakes.
  11. Always collect your child promptly at the end of each session.
  12. Support your child’s involvement and help them enjoy the sport.
  13. Inform the club of any changes in contact details.
  14. If you are able become involved in the club as a volunteer.


CHALKY'S GYMNASTICS CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT FOR COACHES

  1. Hold appropriate valid qualifications and insurance cover.
  2. Follow all guidelines laid down by the Club and Scottish Gymnastics.
  3. Develop an appropriate working relationship with participants and parents based on mutual trust and respect
  4. Display consistently high standards of behaviour, language and appearance
